Born to major league baseball player, Chet “Chick” Morgan of the Detroit Tigers, Danny and his family moved to Pasadena in 1954. Active in theater and choir, Danny Morgan moved to New York after graduation in 1961 and became a designer for Eaves Costumes, working with famed Broadway and TV stars. After moving back to Texas and Galveston Island, Danny became an integral part of the island’s annual Mardi Gras production from costumes to floats. Danny passed away in 2010 leaving a long legacy of artistry and community service..
Launching her business career at 23, Debbie has built Market Doctors, a Houston based marketing company into a successful online service to the automotive industry. She also acquired and built a boat dealership into the most successful Glastrondealer in the nation. Named by Fortune Magazine as a Top Five Woman Leader in Houston, Debbie also served on the Board of and supports EquuSearch,, a non-profit organization dedicated to locating missing persons. She is the founder of Divine Design 10, an organization providing healing and empowerment for women. She also serves on the Board of Haven Belize, an orphanage and abuse shelter for women in need.
Amy Ashby Pike has been a long serving educator in Pasadena ISD. For nearly 50 years she has served as a teacher and program innovator specializing in special education. After earning degrees at Sam Houston State and the University of Houston-Clear Lake, Amy served at Southmore and Miller Intermediate schools before joining the faculty at South Houston High School for seven years. Subsequently she served as an ARD facilitator for middle and elementary school campuses. Though formally retired in 2013, Amy continues to provide service to the district as well as volunteering with the Houston Life Stock Show and Rodeo.
Annette Schomber was the founding Director of the muiltiple award winning JannettesDrill Team from 1967 to 1982. She was responsible for building an entertaining and talented dance team that still performs today. Tough but fair, she is well regarded by many of her former students who regard this recognition as long overdue..
Also an alumni, Madge Willson graduated from South Houston High School in 1969, Returning to her alma mater in 1982, Madge replaced Diane Stafford (Hall of Honor 2024) as the coordinator of the Palladium yearbook, continuing the tradition of outstanding yearbooks for 14 more years. In 1995, she took a similar roll in Humble ISD to be closer to home. Madge also taught English and coached the cheer squad. A student favorite, she had a reputation as kind but firm. Madge passed away in 2020.
Though not a teacher, Wilton Thibodeaux was an iconic and important member of the South Houston High School Staff. As head custodian, the school could not function without him. He was known for arriving to school early to solve air conditioning issues. He addressed student needs, right down to jammed lockers. He is remembered as a gentle giant who loved his school. Mr. Thibodeaux passed away in 2013.
